Community Studio is a collaborative of landscape architects, architects, planners, engineers and students that support community initiated projects with graphic and technical skills, design information and resources, and design workshops.
Initiated in 2003 by landscape architecture students at the University of British Columbia, Community Studio has since evolved into a non-profit organization composed of professionals and students alike.
We provide pro-bono design services for community groups and non-profit organizations that require design assistance to advance their local projects. We believe that designers can contribute unique and valuable skills to the process of building community. We believe that a collaborative design process can provide a unified vision, build social capital, and attract political and financial support for local projects that might otherwise lose momentum or direction.
