CityEdge_thumbCity Edge Housing Co-op

City Edge has asked Community Studio to assist with re-envisioning an outdated playground at their co-op. The old playground, fit only for preschoolers, will be replaced with a new durable playground designed for children 2-12 years old. Community Studio held a workshop with families, and will be working with the Co-op to develop guidelines and goals for the space, as well as a vision plan for the new play yard. The small footprint will require a creative solution. The Co-op will use the vision plan to help fundraise, with the goal to have a new playground installed by summer 2013.

Community Studio will be assisting A. R. Lord Elementary School (near Hastings Park) to re-envision a corner of their school grounds as a natural play space. Currently the site is a grass & treed area directly next to the school building. The goal is to provide an outdoor, accessible learning environment for all students and the community to enjoy. The project is intended to support useability for all ages, sizes and abilities using native plantings and natural structures as the basis of physical development and creative learning.
